Refresh, Refurbish, Renew, ReDesign or ReDecorate - Welcome to the Talk I Walk!

Always remember the five "R's": Refresh, Refurbish, Renew, ReDesign or ReDecorate.

They range from using only what you already have, to changing or replacing flooring, lights, paint, counters, back splash or refinishing stairs. Refurbishing and Reusing by recovering furniture, and then mixing current pieces with new finds can all add up to a brand new space!

I enjoy the process and the challenges of solving the problems but the real reward for me is creating a space the client loves to come home to.

SMALL SPACES - OPEN CONCEPT FLOOR PLANS

Decorating a small space and have it functional and beautiful at the same time is for many of us in new homes or old, a constant challenge.

New homes these days are built on narrower lots and go skyward. This tends to create rooms and spaces that are narrow and long. After allowing for the traffic patterns in your space planning, leaves little room for placing a standard 84" sofa let alone somewhere to put your cup.

We, in North America are spoiled in many ways when it comes to how much space we get to live in and how large of homes we have become accustomed to. This, in turn, has led to king sized beds, large pieces of furniture and a room for every activity.

European traditions, especially in the large cities have passed down small apartment condominiums (less than 1000 square feet) for generations. Along with this practise is passing down the better pieces of furniture.

Downsizing, homes on narrow lots and urban living has put a demand on retailers to make available smaller overall measurements without compromising function.
